A mouthy and feisty taxicab driver has hot tips for a green and inept cop set on solving a string of New York City bank robberies committed by a quartet of female Brazilian bank robbers. Belle Williams is a speed demon. Flying through the streets of New York in her tricked-out taxi, she's earned a rep as New York's fastest cabbie. But driving a hack is only a pit stop for her real dream: Belle wants to be a race car champion. And she's well on her way–until she's derailed by overeager cop Andy Washburn, whose undercover skills are matched only by his total ineptitude behind the wheel. Washburn, whose lack of vehicular skills has landed him in the precinct doghouse, is hot on the heels of a gang of beautiful Brazilian bank robbers, led by Vanessa, their cold, calculating–and leggy–leader. To nab the evasive crooks, drivers license-less Washburn convinces Belle to team up with him to pursue Vanessa and crew. Belle has carte blanche to drive at any speed and break any law. The car-less cop and speed-demon cabbie–New York's unlikeliest partners– begin a high-speed game of cat and mouse with the robbers. That is, if Belle and Washburn don't end up killing each other first. I agree with the "RAT", this movie is worth than pathetic, bad story line, acting, and humor. Have a look at the original (french) the quality of all of these 3 aspects are too good to compare to this rubbish. Queen latifah should stick to her Mic and the rest of the actors, banned them from acting. Serious… the high point of this movie are the Brazilian chick and the racing, even thou i have seen better. About the humor… where is it? there is an extremely stupid cop, which i wonder how he got the job in the first place, one thing is not knowing how to drive but pure stupidity… What is the point of doing a movies that insults the original at least keep the standards even or better? This movie was a big disappointment. I loved Queen Latifah in Bringing Down the House, but here she's not the same. Although, it was probably the screen writer and director's fault. Jimmy Fallon was very unfunny and at times annoying. There were a few good laughs, but besides that there was nothing but hot bad chicks. In fact, the best actor was Gisele Bundchen, the Victoria Secret's model. The movie was nothing special and forgettable.<br/><br/>Overall, this is only if you like bad chicks kicking butt. Queen Latifah fans will be disappointed too. :(<br/><br/>Score: 3/10 Taxi's only saving grace is an inexplicable, though delightful, turn by Ann-Margret as Andy's ever-tipsy mom. She's a stitch, and about 100 times better than her surrounding material.
